I bought my nokia x2-00 as soon as it was released, but never tried to connect to the computer. One day, when I tried to connect to the computer, the device was not recognized, I don't know why?. I thought that there is some problem with the device, then googled a bit and finally found a solution.

- Go to nokia.com and find a suitable nokia pc suite. In case of Nokia X2 here is the link.
- Double click on the downloaded file and install the software on your computer.
- Now connect your phone to the computer with the help of the USB cable.
- You should get three options on your phone. Select the OVI suite option, if you want to connect Ovi suite or select mass storage option if you want to transfer files to the computer or phone.
- If autoplay doesn't work, then go to My Computer and click on NOKIA PHONE BROWSER.
- Add the files to your system, and viceversa.

Well, I did this long time back, I forgot how exactly I did it.
As far as I remember, when you install the software and connect the phone to the pc, you should get an option in the software to restore your phone.
Else do this, go to menu<settings<sync&backup
Either go to phone switch,(with blue tooth you will be transferring the contacts to other phone)
or go to create backup(You will be creating a backup on the memory card)
This is driving me nuts..where are the steps to follow?..i just get into a homepage and nothin doing.Got into X2 page still no directions for connecting to computer.I managed to get my phone connected to a friends computer yesterday and it worked fine..access to all my files no prob.. but plug it into my other one and no joy.Have downloaded Ovi suite and clicked and it goes into itunes..help!!

Go to the link, download the software, install it on your pc.
After installing, connect the X2 mobile Phone to your PC. Click on the phone image on your PC(In the software), then Select the connection. I mean via bluetooth, or through cable and click on next.
Everything should work fine, as I connected my x2 phone two days back

whether your blue tooth is working fine. I never connected my phone using blue tooth. Better you use wired connection

Please install from the link in the post. And then try to restore using backup(first link pc suite). Then browse to your backup and restore. Let me know if I need to put up a tutorial

while connecting the phone, you will get three options on the phone screen. Select one option you will be able to connect it.

Thanks for this tutorial. :) Though I wish you posted a link to the download page rather than the file. I know it links to a file on Nokia's site, but still, gives us a change to see if there is a newer software suit. I installed Nokia Suit(not Ovi), and it works great.

I think there is no problem if the ovi suite gets connected. You could still open your memory card. When you connect the phone, just click on the option "Open to view the files" then you would be automatically directed to your memory (I guess this is what you were looking for)

I am connecting the phone with pc using the original nokia usb cable. But every time i try to update phone software (my fone s/w ver is 4.90) it goes to the point where it asks to backup phone data & when i skip it & go to the next step, it automatically disconnects.Pls help.

I never encountered such a problem when i upgraded to 8.25.
From your post what I could get is that your nokia software updater is not up to date. Do check it,because this might happen if you don't update your software updater.

Please connect your phone to PC and select nokia ovi suite transfer in your phone. You will not get non compatibility error. Let me know if this fixed your error.

Nokia ovi suite 2. Media transfer 3.mass storage. Which option i can select. That time my system shows connectivity cable driver not successfully installed. Pls help me pls

Question 1: You need to select Ovi suite option.
Question 2- Your cable might be not properly connected. You need to either connect it properly or use a different USB port in your system.

I am facing problem after updating my x2-01 in version 8.71...The problem is low internet speed..downloading failed again and again..& most of all whatsapp is not working in it...before updating my cellphone...it was working in last installed version was 7.10 or 7.11..is it possible to install old phone software again?
