How to fix white box on Amazon Fire TV Stick

While using your TV with Amazon Fire TV Stick a white box with "Home" will be displayed at the bottom center of the TV screen as seen in the below picture. This issue is not related to your TV screen but with the Amazon Fire TV Stick itself. At times, if you navigate through the apps, the white box will show some text related to the apps.

Solution
  1. To fix the issue, Please press and hold the Pause button and the Back button (Fast Backwards) together as shown in the below picture for approximately 5 seconds. This can be done either using Fire TV Remote or Fire TV app on your mobile.
  2. Once the buttons are released, the white home screen box should disappear from the TV Screen.

Initially we suspected that the White "Home" box issue is related to the TV screen and was thinking to bring in a TV service technician for troubleshooting. We then restarted the TV as well as Fire TV Stick. But restarting the TV didn't fix the issue. We had narrowed down the issue by selecting other input sources on the TV. The White "Home" box disappeared when we selected a different TV Source. So we concluded that this white "Home" box issue is not related to the TV.  Please do change the input on your TV to conclude that it is not related to your TV screen. If it worked for you or if you are still facing the issue, please leave a comment below.

How to get sound in Facebook videos on Safari Browser - Apple MacBook Pro

After the OS update to "MacOS Sierra" Facebook videos were playing without any sound on Apple MacBook Pro. Youtube was working fine without any issues. Below steps helped me to fix the issue.

1) Login to Facebook
2) Play the video.
3) Hover on the tab. A speaker button should appear. Please note that this button will be enabled only after playing the video.

4) Click on that to Unmute.

This should fix the problem.

OBIEE MDS-01370: MetadataStore configuration for metadata-store-usage "OWSM_TargetRepos" is invalid.

I did a simple install of OBIEE on my windows 7 64 bit machine. After installing, i was able to login to the Console and Enterprise manager. But I was unable to login to the analytics URL using the same weblogic credentials. I was getting the below error

I checked the BI services, all the BI services were running properly, then I logged into the Enterprise manager and found the below log file

Solution:
Later found that I did run the below commands before running the RCU

set RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS=TRUE

echo %RCU_JDBC_TRIM_BLOCKS%

Please stop all the services including admin server, BI services and manager server.

Drop the RCU and do a fresh install of the RCU with the same password you used before for DEV_BIPLATFORM schema.

Restart the services again. You should now be able to login to the analytics
